Personal Style Branding Tips for Business Owners

Do you wake up asking yourself what to wear? You are not alone. Although most cities are opening back up, many of us are now used to wearing t-shirts and jogging pants.

If you plan to attend online or in-person meetings, your appearance will help you get respect and build your reputation.

There is a joke online that people now attend online meetings wearing casual pants, but you never know if a full outfit will be needed if you have to get up from your desk.

Read my new blog for tips and advice on personal style branding.

WEAR A DARK BLAZER FOR EXECUTIVE MEETINGS

In my experience, wearing a dark business or formal blazer has helped me stand out from the crowd. I make sure to wear a light blouse or shirt under the blazer.

If you have a pair of glasses, make sure it matches one part of your outfit.

Always bring a mask if a coffee shop or library asks you, or your prospective client to wear a mask on arrival.

NETWORKING EVENTS

WEAR A CASUAL OR LIGHT COLORED BLAZER

A light-colored blazer is the right choice when meeting people in person at networking events. Remember to be careful when eating food with ketchup or drinking colored juice.

I recommend that you keep a second blazer or cardigan in your car if you are overdressed, or an accidental spill happens.

Remember to bring hand sanitizer and keep your distance if you feel the need to be safe during this time.

SHOW PERSONALITY IN YOUR MEETINGS

It is essential to ask people how they are doing. If they do not get into a detailed conversation, feel free to share how you are doing in business or on a personal level.

Remember that a positive first impression is essential during our new digital world. After you are done your personal chat, get straight to business.
