The top companies across the globe make these mistakes. Why does this happen? Marketing and branding are rapidly changing every day.
My goal in this blog is to go deeper into some of the posts that I've shared regarding the top branding and marketing mistakes. I’ll share things that I've been noticing on all of my social media platforms.
This blog is not an opportunity for me to roast anyone or make you feel bad if you are making some of these mistakes.
Read the rest of my blog. You will find out what works for me and the companies I’ve been studying for the past six months.
What Does Branding Mean?
Branding and marketing, as I’ve shared on IGTV and YouTube, is a metaphor for a conversation that you have with a stranger. Branding is your reputation and what most people think of you when they see your products, services, or online content.
You build a relationship with people as time passes by sharing videos, blogs, quotes, and other content that helps them solve their problems. As you continue to solve their problems, it makes people feel good or puts a smile on their face.
The more you can do this, the more likes, comments, and direct messages you will see from people that are interested in what you have to offer.
CONTENT MARKETING AND BRANDING MISTAKES
Posting Several Times a Week on Social Media
According to Hootsuite, people only spend Instagram users spend 28 minutes per day on the site throughout the day. If you only post in the morning, the people that log on at lunchtime or night will not see your post.
There is a misunderstanding that posting on social media a few times a week will help build your brand or business.
I don’t agree with this because the previous way of marketing was TV commercials, which played repetitively throughout the day. Your goal is to be the first person or company on people's minds when it comes to what you offer. Do you have any questions? Contact me today.
Sharing Products and Services Only
One of the fastest ways to lose followers or have your posts ignored is to only share products and services. You want to show personality, a human side to your team, and compassion for what is happening today with Covid 19.
When people see a social media page with products and services only, here are some things that come to mind.
The company only cares about making money
The brand lacks creativity or time to share a variety of content
You do not want to be remembered for any of these things because the goal of online marketing is building long term relationships.
Avoiding the Idea of Going Live
Did you know you can go live on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Tik Tok, and YouTube?
I felt scared the first time I did an Instagram live. The beautiful thing about going live is you can get up close and personal with your followers.
Now that we are in quarantine, your face can make a difference as to whether you gain or lose business right now. Here are recommendations for going live:
Go live every week
Survey followers before choosing a topic
Share a video that you will continue to go live
Have fun and let people ask questions
Once your face and personality seep into the minds of your followers, people will be more likely to contact you with questions or purchase what you offer.
Please keep in mind that some users do not have a go live option for LinkedIn, Tik Tok, and YouTube.
Conclusion
Marketing and branding are the best ways to grow your business. Remember to post every day and share different topics other than your products and services. Go live, and you will see an increase in likes, shares, bookmarks, comments, and messages. Most importantly, you will build an online community that can help improve your personal brand or business.
